Alloy 386 / MultiWare
In September of 1995, IGC purchased the Alloy 386/MultiWare line of products. 386/MultiWare extended our product offering as a well-established alternative to our award winning multiuser DOS/Windows operating system-VM/386.
Unfortunately, due to the technological constraints of the product, as well as the difficulty in obtaining the necessary hardware to produce the boards, we have been forced to discontinue the 386/MuiltiWare line as of April 1,1997.
We would like to offer our resellers the opportunity to upgrade their existing 386/MultiWare installations to VM/386. VM/386 will preserve the low cost and easy maintenance that you enjoyed with MultiWare, while giving you the modern hardware support that you need to stay competitive.
IGC prides itself on keeping VM/386 on the leading edge of technology and invests heavily in on-going development. VM/386 will provide your customers with the new features they want-when they want them. Features such as DPMI and Windows 3.11 support, support for up to 192 MB of system RAM, and support for hard disks over 520 MB will give your customers options that MultiWare could not offer.
In addition, VM/386 allows you to take advantage of the speed and processing power of Pentium's, Pentium Pros', and MMX Pentium's. VM/386 also supports SCSI controllers, PCI video, and a host of other devices that will allow you to build in the performance necessary for your mission critical installations.
The upgrade from 386/MultiWare to VM/386 is simple. It involves a minimal multiuser hardware change and swapping out the software. (If you use IMP 8R boards, there are no hardware changes.) And since VM/386, like 386/MultiWare, runs true MS- or PC-DOS, there are few new commands to learn. In addition, we offer utility and wire conversion charts as well as detailed diagrams to make the process as easy as possible.
