IGC Press Release
IGC International Merges with ASP-One, Inc.
CHICAGO, IL - December 21, 1999. Effective January 1, 2000, IGC International, a leader in thin client and multi-user technology, will become part of ASP-One, Inc. under the direction of CEO Henri Ganancia.
ASP-One, a worldwide application service provider and creator of the Biz@Large portal, has expanded its North American operations by acquiring IGC International. This merger will bring added value and expertise to the full range of application hosting and web-based business services provided by ASP-One, advancing the company's strategy to be the leading provider of ready-to-use, customizable information systems on a subscription basis over the Internet.
IGC International, a leader in multi-user technology since 1985, specializes in thin client computing for vertical and POS (Point of Sale) markets. IGC's unique technology, MTerm Terminal Server, allows text-based applications to run on a Windows NT server. These applications can then be accessed locally or over the Internet. ASP-One will utilize the MTerm platform to host text-based applications over the Web. "The acquisition of IGC International will enable ASP-One to offer our customers an outsourced solution for fast, cost-effective and state-of-the-art information systems," said Henri Ganancia, CEO of ASP-One. "The synergy provided by ASP-One and IGC International is key to our growth strategy."
ASP-One will continue to market and support IGC products including VM/386, the industry leading multi-user DOS operating system, and MTerm Terminal Server for Windows NT.
